Now that was fun!

Here we are with our "Pre-Flight" pose.

Seated. Seat-belted. Head sets. Captain "Bruce" was our pilot's name. He looked to be about twelve years old.

And now we're off!!!!!!
I am working on compressing the video I took, then I'll post.
Check back.

A Million Little Projects

I took the day off today. From "what"? I'm not quite sure. I need some help here. In the midst of a million different little projects. I lost my "open end" wrench. Can you find it in the pic.

While I was looking for it I found that little bird perch that I've been missing. I then found the fuse for the car stereo but I threw that car stereo away two years after I sold my truck. That truck was the Chevy Luv. A great little truck that I sold, getting back to my story, about twelve or thirteen years ago, if you follow, making it about ten or eleven years now that I've not needed it, the fuse.
But there it was sitting there right on top of the "Horse shoe nail ring" that I or one of the family aquired in Nauvoo, Ill. in either the year 200o, I remember because I celebrated my fortieth birthday in a restraunt on old Main that year and was re-celebrated in the home of a friend in Evansville.Old Main which is really the New Main until the real old main was restored beggining in 1954 by the Great Grandson of Heber C. Kimball Dr. J LeRoy Kimball, or possibly when I was there at a much younger age in nineteen hundred and eighty - did I spell that right.

Some have suggested that blogs containing too much verbage are not fun. So I pause for those who wish to either exit, or get a drink of water and return because I am just beggining. Also I am throwing in another picture some unidentified person took using my camera. I would never take such a picture.

Pause. You can't really tell that the fuse from the radio from the chev is sitting on a horse shoe nail ring but it is and if you want a better view there is another one similiar to it ten squares up from the bottom on the left. Check the right too. Sometime I say left when I really mean right. This time though I really mean left. I don't even own a forty-four caliber firearm. Two round's found. I shoot a .177 caliber rifle. One "hollow point" round of this ammo pictured. So from the history of this jar you have a view of my life. Pumping volley balls up. Plumbing the air conditioner. Painting. Rock hunting. Sheet rocking. Bike tire repair. Rivet repair. Electrical wiring. Picture hanging. Watch repair. Hack sawing. Antenna connecting. Car Repairing. Faucet fixing. Cabinetry. Electronic gadgetry. Networking. Garden hose watering. Woodworking. Retaining. Clipping. Nailing. Pinning.

Let me know if you find my wrench.

Re-Onion

Highlights

Outbid my own daughter attempting to buy the brownies made by my own daughter. Laugh #1 (No pic - I ate them!)

Rode GW's three wheeler (the one with the TWO weird wheels in front) like there was no tomorrow! A cheesey grin on his face as I started and pure "deer in the headlights"when I got back. And in one piece I might add. I really thought I was gonna die when that thing went up on two wheels and I took off like lightning. Yeah, lightning! Back and forth and ziggy-like. Big (group) laugh #2 (Sorry no pic of the thing.)

Now the pics.
Someone was cold. "Was" being the key word here. Others were practicing their skills of being on the front line of an out of control fire.

Got there late so the highlights are brief.

Highly Voltage

Don't try this at home. Well, yes, I did try this at home and it's cool but I know what I'm doing.

Air has a very high resistance to electrical current. So when a static spark jumps from your finger you just played with "High Voltage". Knock it off !

It's been determined that it takes about Sixteen Thousand volts to jump across 5mm gap, that's milli-meters.

This picture of a 6 inch leaping spark must be in the neighborhood of 500,000 volts. This may be debateable in that the air is ionized and a plasma stream is created dropping the resistance of the path. Regardless of the exact HIGH voltage the spark is "mostly" harmless in that it is happening at a very high frequency as well. This high frequency creates a surface voltage more tolerable than the spark of your lawn mower.

Well enough techy talk about Tesla Coils, oh, did I say this was a Tesla Coil...Well it is. Credit given to a former co-worker Duane Bylund for teaching me the principles of Very High Frequency-High Voltage, and the design of this Tesla Coil.

Disclaimer:

I disclaim any errs.

Stress Relief

After a long day at work that has been extended by a long list of things to get done at home it sure feels great to sit down and have a Pea. And so as it is, I am going to let my pictures do the rest of the explaining for me.

Temperatures 93 degrees during the day and 66 degrees at Pea picking(11:30 p.m.).
Notice the awesome moon!

I've been found out!

?Someone hiding?

ah-Ha!

If you come visit me you too can relax and sit and have a Pea.

How to eat a 13 Dollar Watermelon

Begin by cutting both ends from your $13 watermelon. (If you paid less this may not work.) Next enjoy a flavorful treat by cutting out the heart and eating it. This may be enhanced by sharing it with a close friend. (I have found that the heart from a seedless watermelon is less flavorful than that of the seeded variety when compared to the rest of the melon.) Next carefully cut from the outsides of the watermelon the green stuff. Next pick your favorite jack-o-lantern pattern and while cutting eat the pieces as you go. Much unlike your last pumpkin carving this can be filling.

Two important disclosures:

#1 If you plan on doing this late in the evening before going to bed, don't. watermelon fruit contains tons of water!

#2 The words watermelon and juice and delicious cannot be used in the same sentence. In other words do not try to make yourself a refreshing drink with succulent watermelon chunks in a blender. It doesn't work! The flavor disappears in all of the spinning.
