UINTA
Reid's peak and Bald mtn. @ Dean lk.
While hiking out of the Uinta's with my father and older brother, I was probably 8 or 9 years old, my father suddenly realized that he had left his sunglasses back at the lake. He left us standing there, I was going to say on the trail, but he rarely used a trail, ran back several hundred yards to the lake, retrieved his glasses and returned to us and finished our hike out of the Uinta mountains. I was impressed at a very young age by his knowledge of the Uinta's. Many weekends through the summer we'd either throw together a "hobo" dinner or buy a Swanson (aluminum foil) TV dinnner, grab our fishing gear and head to the Uinta's. After choosing one or several lakes we would hike in, fish for the day, and then hike out in the dark. The Uinta's are a part of me. My Father is Uinta.
If my Father had done only one thing for me in my life he has taught me to love the Uinta's. For as far back as my memory serves me I have been hiking the Uinta mountains with my Father. Those first memories would be with my older brother Jeff and my Uncle Bill and my cousin's Mark and Mike. Years to follow would be trips with my younger brother Derek and cousin Matt.
Returning to the Uinta's this past summer to Kamas Lake. Uncle Bill, my father Jerry, my son Steven and Me (Quinn). North side of Bald Mtn in the background.

Spending time at the lakes in the Uinta mountains, fishing and hiking are now strong traditions of my family. The following are a few of the lake's I've visited this year.
